Learning Environments

Ladybugs Room

Our Ladybirds are our youngest at over twelve months (depending on child's development).

We nurture and prepare these little ones for their next steps in learning through playful learning activities, encouraging communication, physical development, and social interactions with each other.

Caterpillars Room

Caterpillars are children between the ages of two and three.  At this stage, they are taking huge steps in their development, and they are much more physically able in seeking to explore the environment around them.

In our Caterpillars Room, we provide experiences that create opportunities for the children to make friends and build their physical and language development.

The staff in this room support the children with toilet training (including using our toilet and nappy changing facilities).  This has been designed to make it easier for the children, parents, and staff.

The Caterpillar Room also have their own outdoor space at the side of the building. This outdoor area links with the gardening area, where children can dig, plant and grow fruit and vegetables throughout the year.

Butterflies Room

In our Butterflies Room we cater to children from the ages of three years old.

We learn a lot about what children are interested in by the questions they ask. As a result, it allows us to plan exciting and stimulating activities based on their own interests.

We encourage confidence and self-esteem through initiating learning play experiences. This focuses on children’s physical, social, and emotional development to help support their growth in becoming independent.

The children are supported by staff to understand there are rules for being together with others by always encouraging patience, tolerance, and modelling positive ways to treat one another.

We also teach the children about the world around them. At the same time, we are preparing them for their next steps, which is going off to reception class at a primary school.
